Mohanlal Viswanathan Nair, fondly known as Mohanlal, is an Indian actor, who is prominent for his works in the Malayalam Film Industry. However, he has starred in few Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada movies as well. He is also known for his occasional singing and is an owner of a production house. He has also acted in dramas and plays.

Career:Mohanlal, has initially starred in many plays. He made his debut in film Industry, through film, ‘Thiranottam’. However, the movie faced some issues in release and his first movie released was, ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal’, in the year 1980. Mohanlal, plays an antagonist character in the movie and was a blockbuster success at that time. Following this, he has acted in over 25, in the negative role. In 1983, he got the opportunity to star as a lead in the movie, ‘Ivide Thudangunnu’ and later he was recognised as a successful hero of the Malayalam industry. He was also seen in other language films like, ‘Iruvar’, from Tamil, ‘Company’, from Hindi etc. He is also the recipient of ‘Padma Shri’ Award and many notable awards for his performances.
