Ravi Shankar Prasad, is an Indian Politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is one of the member of the Rajya Sabha and represents the State of Bihar. Currently, he is serving as the Union Minister of Law and Justice, in the Government of India. He is also a senior lawyer of Supreme Court of India.
Career:
After completing his education, he started practising law in Patna High Court, from 1980. He was promoted as a Senior Advocate of Patna High Court, in the year 1999 and following this, he became the Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of India, in 2000. During 1970s, he organised protests against Indira Gandhi’s Government and was also arrested. In the year 1995, he became the member of the BJP and in the year 2000, was elected as a Rajya Sabha Member, representing Bihar. Following this, he served as a Minister of Coal & Mines, Law & Justice and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In the year 2005, he was appointed as the BJP spokes person. In the year 2006 and 2012, he was again elected as the member of the Rajya Sabha and in 2014, he was made the Union Minister for Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Ministry of Law and Justice.
