Poonam Ganesh Raut is an Indian cricketer, who has played in many matches including 1 test match, 28 Women’s ODI and 27 T20 matches. She also has a world record for scoring 109 runs, in a opening partnership along with Deepti Sharma.

Career:In the year 2004, she made her first cricket debut in the U-14 and U-19 trial match and she got selected. In the year 2009, she made her debut in the One Day International match. Following which, she also joined in the Indian Railways, after making this ODI debut. She has played in over 50 ODI matches and 35 T20I matches. Even though, she has given an outstanding performances in the matches, she was not selected for the World cup qualifiers held in Sri Lanka. However, she was included in the Indian Team for the series against South Africa.
In the match against South Africa, she was one of the opening batsman along with Deepti Sharma. Both of them scored a whooping 320-run and created a world record, in which Poonam contributed 109 runs. Following this, she became an automatic choice for the Indian World Cup Squad. She was part of the 2017 Women’s World Cup against England, unfortunately the team lost by 9 runs.
