Sanjay Chandra, is the Managing Director of India’s second largest real estate investment company, ‘Unitech Ltd’. He has been with the company, since 2006. He is also the co-owner of Fairway Advisory Services Ltd. He was previous employed as the Chairman by Unitech Wireless.
Career:
Career:After finishing his education, he co-founded Ikon Clothing Inc. In 1996 and was the President till the year 2001. He then returned to India, he joined Unitech Ltd as Head of Sales Marketing, in August 1, 2001. Soon he was promoted to the position of Director, in the year 2004.
He served as the Chairman of Unitech Wireless Limited, till May 2011. Currently, he serves as the director of Unitech Sai Pvt. Ltd., Shreeaumji Developers SEZ Pvt. Ltd., Unitech Advisors (India) Pvt. Ltd., etc. He has received the 3rd Construction World Builders Awards from the Architect Leadership Council and was listed as one of the List of Young Global Leaders(YGL) by World Economic Forum in Geneva, 2011.
Controversies:
Sanjay Chandra, was accused in the 2G Spectrum scan, along with the politician, A.Raja, who was the minister for communications & IT. Chandra was arrested in April, 2011 and released on bail on November, 2011. However, in 2013, the case was moved to CBI and his bail was cancelled, stating that ‘he tried to sabotage the trial’.
Today morning, he along with his brother, Ajay Chandra, has been arrested for Money Laundering. They have been accused of duping buyers, who has booked flat in his Greater Noida Residential project. Buyers stated that, ‘The project was not completed on-time and their money was also not returned along with interest’. They will be presented before Delhi High court, today afternoon.
