Nahid Afrin, is a 16-year old runner-up in the famous singing reality competition, ‘Indian Idol’. After participating in the reality competition, she gained name and fame. She made her Bollywood debut as singer, in the movie ‘Akira’, directed by Anurag Kashyap and the chance was given by Bollywood actress, Sonakshi Sinha. Recently, she was invited to participate in an event, which is going to be held on March 25, 2017. However, the location of the event is in between a Mosque and a graveyard.
Singer Nahid Afrin was shocked to hear about the ‘Fatwa’ issued against her upcoming event. She has reported that initially, she was disappointed and was broken from inside. She has also mentioned that, many Muslim singers gave her inspiration to continue with her performance and they have also asked her not to quit.
Nahid Afrin added that ‘Music is a God’s Gift to her and it has to be utilised properly. Not doing so is like ignoring God’ and she said that she will be performing on the event. The police administrator has added that, Nahid Afrin has made some performances before, against terrorist groups including IS. Now Assam Chief Minister and Union Law minister have raised their voice in support of Nahid.
According to the reports, letters supporting the event were given to the people of Hozai and Nagaon village of Assam, were the ‘Fatwa’ law was issued and the names of the people who issued ‘Fatwa’, has been gathered.
