‘Farida Jalal’ is a well-known Indian Bollywood actress, who has acted over 200 Bollywood films, in addition to which she has also worked in Telugu, Tamil and English movies. She is well known from her 1960’s movie ‘Chaudvin Ka Chand’. She worked as a character artist in many other movies.
Career:
Farida Jalal is from Delhi and she started her career in 1960, after winning the ‘United Film Producers Talent Hunt’ sponsored by Filmfare. Her first movie was Taqdeer by Tarachand Barjatya, who happened to be in the audience during the Talent hunt show. She was usually portrayed in the role of the sister or rejected fiancée of the male lead and she did not lead in any movie. One of her most critically acclaimed role is in ‘Bobby’ were she played the mentally challenged would-be fiancée of the Male lead.
Gradually in 1980’s, her role progressed from sister or girlfriend to mother or aunt of the leads in the movie. However, she took a break from 1983-1990 and then she continued her acting career. She has been acting for over 40 years.
