Storm in the politics of Tamil Nadu ends as Edappadi K. Palanisamy takes oath on 16th February 2017 as the new Chief Minister of the State. Palanisamy is one of the prominent supporters of Sashikala leadership and he served as the Minister of Highways and Minor Ports in the Ministry of Tamil Nadu. The sitting Member of Legislative Assemble (MLA) for the Edapadi seat in the district Salem legislative assembly.
Palanisamy is the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu although he needs to prove sufficient seats support in next 15 days to continue his positioning as the leader of AIADMK legislative party. Palanisamy takes the oath as CM of Tamil Nadu as Supreme Court of India finds Mrs. V.K Sasikala accused of disproportionate assets case and announces punishment for the same case.
