Arnab Goswami is an Indian Journalist and Television News Anchor. He is the Managing Director and co-founder of the upcoming news channel, Republic TV. This channel is expected to be launched in the year 2017.
He started his career in ‘The Telegraph’ in Kolkatta, before joining NDTV. Within a year he shifted to NDTV 24×7 in 1995, where he did the anchoring as daily newscast. Later, he became the news editor and joined NDTV’s core team from 1998. He has also hosted Newshour on every week night and the show aired from 1998-2003. He has also hosted one of the top rated shows ‘Newsnight’, for which he won Best News Anchor of Asia Award in 2004.
Since 2006, he was editor-in-chief of TimesNow new channel and he show ‘The Newshour’ was aired at 9pm. His popular program was ‘Frankly Speaking with Arnab’, in which he interviewed famous personalities like Benazir Bhutto, Gordon Brown, Hillary Clinton, Narendra Modi etc. He has also written a book named ‘Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge’.
